This 12th scale retro fridge was designed using Blender and is printed for Home Sweet Home Minis on Etsy. As is often the case with my miniature designs, the look is based heavily on photo reference of actual furniture and appliances provided by the client. We settled on this design due to it's unique look so as to stand out against other miniatures on the market, yet not be so unique that it would only work in a small subset of unique displays. The LED light is activated using a magnetic normally open switch in the chassis and a magnet in the door. The bottom mechanical compartment made an ideal spot to hide the battery and wires. Both the main and freezer doors are fully articulated to emulate the actual fridge it is based on. The prototyping stage of this project was surprisingly arduous! So many moving parts and tolerances. No artists were harmed in the making of this dollhouse miniature (AKA No AI was used at any stage)
